Bottles to Books Primary School
Based on Biblical Principles

Academics: Your children are having so much fun learning new things each day. We will be teaching common core state standards in language arts and math. Math: adding practice, count-up Strategy, subtraction same number rule, how to use a calculator, tallying by hand, abacus figuring, rote counting, number line counting, counting by two’s, fives, and tens, practice telling time, and practice the multiplication table. We practice greater and lesser than concept and symbols < >. We will introduce time tables in the future. We will continue with ones; tens; hundreds; thousand’s, ten thousand's, hundred thousand's, and millions place value, and more. We will learn the days of the week and months of the year, the alphabet upper and lower case letters, blends, shapes, colors and numbers in English and Spanish. We will learn to write (trace) letters; our names, recite scripture; level reading books; sight words spelling and more!
Science Experiment: Balloon Baking Soda Vinegar Science Experiment for Kids. Chemical reaction between the base (baking soda) and acid (vinegar) Creating CO2 (carbon dioxide)an invisible gas which we catch in our balloons.
New Book Arrival: Can a Creature Be your Teacher? By Eila Goldberg; The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein.
States and Capitals: We working on mastering all 50 states and capitals. We are also introducing and familiarizing them with the 45 Presidents of the United States. We are discussing the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance. Coins,the denominations and presidents.
Religion: Bible stories: I Samuel and learning our scriptures, praise and worship, and prayer are an important part of our curriculum. Focus scripture is: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but give us power, love and self-discipline."
Tips and Reminder: Please donate large construction paper, Elmer's clear glue, paper towels, tissue for our little noses, Lysol wipes, and paper or plastic cups and plates. Thank you in advance.
Note: Uniforms worn Monday - Thursday. Casual dress day on Friday. No opened toed shoes admitted on the school grounds for safety reasons. Students are given an age appropriate level book and site word list as homework. Please help your child be responsible for completing homework reading each night and completing site word review.
Upcoming or Past Events: Open new enrollment - School Uniforms are on sale now. We Skip Kindergarten! A field trip to the Cuyamaca Conservation Garden to extend our learning.
